Relevant sectors: Applicable to most workplaces

Incorrect manual handling is a very common cause of injury at work. Heavy manual labour, incorrect posture and an existing injury are all risk factors in developing musculoskeletal disorders, which account for over a third of workplace injuries.

The HSE recommend that anyone who carries out manual handling in the workplace should receive training in manual handling, the injury risks and prevention.

This training course gives you the valuable knowledge of how to assess a manual handling task, reduce the risk of an injury and guidance about how to lift safely.
